About the ISIC card
What is ISIC/ITIC card?
ISIC (abr. International Student Identity Card) and ITIC (abr. International Teacher Identity Card) – is the only internationally recognized proof of full time student, scholar or teacher status. ISIC/ITIC card not only proves the official academic status but also allows you to make the most out of thousands of targeted benefits and discounts in Lithuania and 130 countries. ISIC/ITIC cardholders get the full access to the greatest discount program for academic community. Every cardholder can download the ISIC App for free in order to use Virtual ID and see nearby discounts. Who can get ISIC card?
ISIC student card can be issued only for full time students of high schools (colleges and universities). For students in Lithuania ISIC card is issued based on the data in the Students` Register.
Full time students of high schools (colleges and universities) of foreign countries and students temporary studying in Lithuania (eg. ERASMUS students) can also get ISIC card. Foreign students must be able to prove they are currently studying full time at a college or university. Therefore, they must submit an official document (Confirmation) that:
States you are a full time student at your university or college;
Indicates the end date of your studies;
Is dated and signed;
Has been issued not later than 3 months ago.
How much does the card cost?
Classic ISIC card – 12 Eur
ISIC with integrated Vilnius or Kaunas city public transport e-ticket – 13 Eur
How can I get ISIC/ITIC card?
You can order your ISIC/ITIC online or at ISIC/ITIC issuing points.
Online ordering might be a good option for you if you want to get your card by registered post, to upload a beautiful photo of yours from your phone or computer or to save an extra minute before coming to the issuing point.
Coming to the ISIC/ITIC issuing point might be a good option for you if you are in a hurry – we will fill in the data for you, check your documents, take a photo of yours (free of charge) and issue your card in 5 minutes.

How fast can I get my ISIC/ITIC card?
AT THE ISSUING POINT cards are issued in 5 minutes. You can get your card even faster if you choose to pay and pick-up your card at the issuing point having filled out the online order form in advance. Otherwise, just come to the issuing point and we will do it for you! We will take a picture of yours for your ISIC/ITIC card (free of charge) if you don’t have the preferred one.
ONLINE ORDER WITH DELIVERY – cards are issued in 1-4 working days and sent out by post. In the territory of Lithuania parcels are delivered in 2-5 working days (depending on the chosen way of delivery and order time).
There is a hologramic sticker on my card, should I remove it?
No, you shouldn‘t. Your card is ready to use the way it is – with all it‘s attributes. You do not try to remove holograms from paper money, do you?
How do I start using my virtual ISIC student card?
1 Download the ISIC App from Google Play or App Store;
2 Sign in on the App entering your ISIC card number;
3 Check the approval link in your e-mail;
4 Browse thousands of discounts and use your virtual ID!
To use your virtual ID you do not need internet connection!
Validity
How long is the card valid for?
FOR STUDENTS OF 1st TO 3rd YEARS ISIC is valid for 16 months, counting from the 1st of September of each year until the end of December the next year.
FOR STUDENTS OF THE LAST YEAR ISIC is valid until the end of September, OR until the end of May when the study period is shorter than usual (eg. 3.5 years or 1.5 years).
FOR ERASMUS STUDENTS ISIC is issued and validity assigned according to the Confirmation document stating the end date of studies. It can last up to 16 months as well.
In which countries is my ISIC card valid?
At this moment ISIC card is valid in Lithuania and 130 countries. The full list of countries can be found here.
How do I know if my virtual student card is valid?
Open the ISIC App and click the button „Show ISIC card“. On right hand side you will see today‘s date and ticking time next to the word „VALID“ and green light. If your ISIC is not valid anymore, instead of the word „VALID“ you will see „EXPIRED“ and red light. Virtual ID is the exact copy of your physical card. They both have the same validity.
Required documents
What documents do I need to apply for the card?
Personal identity document (passport or ID card);
Photo of yours (document type, coloured photo of the size 3×4 cm). Or we can make a photo of yours at the issuing point free of charge at the issuing point if you don’t have the preferred one (except for KIVEDA issuing point);
*Confirmation document from your high school (college or university) that:
– States you are a full time student at your university or college;
– Indicates the end date of your studies;
– Is dated and signed;
– Has been issued not later than 3 months ago.
*Confirmation document must be provided only by citizens of high schools of foreign countries and students studying abroad.
I am a student from a foreign country. Can I get ISIC card?
Yes, of course you can! Foreign students (foreign students studying in Lithuania and students studying abroad) who wish to order ISIC in Lithuania have to provide:
Personal identity document (passport or ID card);
Photo of yours (document type, colourful photo of the size 3×4 cm). Or we can make a photo of yours at the issuing point free of charge at the issuing point if you don’t have the preferred one (except for Megaturas point);
*Confirmation document from your high school (college or university) that:
– States you are a full time student at your university or college;
-Indicates the end date of your studies;
-Is dated and signed;
-Has been issued not later than 3 months ago.

Where can I find the list of all benefits with ISIC/ITIC in Lithuania and abroad?
IN LITHUANIA
All the discounts valid at this moment can be found on page „Discounts“ > „Discounts in Lithuania“. You can filter them out by city or category. Also you can find them if you download the free ISIC App.
When you visit any place, be attentive and look for ISIC sticker on the door or next to the cash desk. When you find one – be sure there is a special offer for you at this place. Also, you can always ask if there aren‘t any discounts for students. You will be surprised!
ABROAD
All the discounts abroad can be found on page „Discounts“ > „Discounts abroad“. You can filter them out by city or category. Also you can find them if you download the free ISIC App. Right on your smartphone you will be able to see all discounts nearby no matter where you are at this moment. If you are traveling to a certain city, make a research in advance about the discounts valid in that particular city. Pay attention to the fact that sometimes in order to use the discount it is enough to show your ISIC/ITIC, but sometimes you will also need reservation, voucher or a special password. In the description of every discount you can find the ways to use them.

Public transport
Am I eligible for public transport discounts in Lithuania, if I have ISIC?
In accordance with EU and Lithuanian national law, students/scholars eligible for public transport discounts are:
1) citizens of the Republic of Lithuania; 2) citizens of other EU member countries and EEC (European Economic Community) member countries; 3) citizens of foreign countries or citizens without citizenship, who have permanent or temporary residence permit; 4) family members of citizens of EU member countries and EEC (European Economic Community) member countries, who have a family member residence permit.
! Foreign students of EU and EEC member countries who want to use public transport discounts must provide ISIC (International Student Identity Card) and personal identity document that proves EU or EEC member country citizenship. Others must also provide temporary or permanent residence permit.

Am I eligible for public transport discounts abroad, if I have ISIC?
If in a particular country students/scholars of foreign countries are eligible for public transport discounts, you will be able to use them as well (because you have a document proving your student status). If you are planning to travel abroad be sure to find out about the situation with public transport. You can also write a letter for the Exclusive Representative of that ISIC country to know the most relevant information about public transport matters for foreign students at this moment.
Is there public transport e-ticket integrated in my ISIC card?
You can choose to have the type of card you want: a) Classic ISIC card or b) ISIC with integrated Vilnius or Kaunas city public transport e-ticket. The later one is like to have two cards in one. There is a mark on the back side of your card which says if it has integrated e-ticket. ISIC student card with integrated Vilnius or Kaunas city public transport e-ticket costs 11 Eur.
ISIC issuing, delivery, points
Can I change the pick-up point if I‘ve already filled in the online order form?
If you have filled in the online order form, chosen to pick-up and pay for your card at a certain ISIC issuing point and now want to change that, it is possible to do that (with the condition that the preferable point issues that type of cards). You can find all the list of ISIC issuing points here.
There are two ways how you can do it:
OPTION 1: simply fill in new ISIC order form and pick the right ISIC issuing point this time. After that you can immediately come to make your card!
OPTION 2: when you decided which will be your new pick-up point, please write us a letter with your request. Don‘t forget to mention your name and surname. An employee of ISIC Lithuania will pass your order to this new pick-up point and confirm you can now go there and make your ISIC.
Can I pay by bank card at ISIC issuing point?
Yes, you can, except for Megaturas issuing point.
Can I order ISIC card online?
Yes. Fill in the online order form with your personal details, upload a photo and choose the best way of delivery or pick-up point. Order ISIC online here.
I didn’t get my ISIC. What should I do?
OPTION A): If you had ordered ISIC with delivery and already payed for it, but didn’t get your card during the indicated period, few things could had happened:
1. the documents you uploaded were not proper or it pointed out you could not have ISIC;
2. photo you uploaded did not comply with the requirements for making ISIC;
3. it is possible that postman didn’t find you at home (postman comes to your home only once!) or address was written incorrectly, so the postal item came back to the post department.
What should you do?
1. Check the email you pointed out while filling in the online order form. It could be, you got a letter asking to clarify some of the data/ upload proper photo of yours.
2. Contact us at info@isic.lt or +370 5 2397396 and ask for help. Tell us about your problem and don‘t forget to write your name and surname.
OPTION B): If you had filled in the order form and chosen to pay and pick-up your ISIC at the issuing point, you can go there right away! You do not need to wait for any e-mails or approvals. We will check if the data is correct and issue your card in 5 minutes!
I have lost my ISIC card, what should I do?
If you have lost your ISIC, call us +370 5 2397396 or write an e-mail at info@isic.lt (don‘t forget to point out your name and surname) and we will block your card. No additional fees for the lost card will be applied. If you want to order new card, follow the instructions as usual.
